Nebbiolo is Piedmont's quintessential native grape variety.
It is certainly the most prized red grape variety in Italy.
Its name immediately brings to mind "nebbia" or "fog", some thought because its berries are covered with abundant bloom and for others because the grapes are harvested late in October.
