History
The Spirito Agricolo Ballarin winery is a continuation of the long history of Cascina Ballarin, a winery founded in 1928 when grandfather Giovanni Ballarin bought land in the hamlets of Annunziata in La Morra and Bussia in Monforte, planting Nebbiolo, Dolcetto and Barbera on hillside land, and growing cereals and fruit on flat land. He went on to build the house and the stable. The company evolved under his son Luigi and continued to do so when his grandsons Gianni and Giorgio took over. In 2015, Gianni took the master distiller's course, and motivated by the desire to close the loop on the company's production cycle, the first grappas and brandies were created. Spirito Agricolo Ballarin was born in 2022, following Gianni and Giorgio's decision to each pursue their own business as independent producers.
