Francesco Rinaldi & Figli

Via Crosia, 28 Barolo CN | T. +39 0173 440484

History

Francesco Rinaldi & Figli was founded in 1870, when Giovanni Rinaldi inherited a plot of land in the Cannubi vineyard, recognised its potential and decided to purchase the winery on the hill. In the 1960s, Francesco's sons Luciano and Michele continued the family business, and the company has grown steadily up to the present day. The tradition of winemaking in the cellar has been harmoniously integrated with the technology needed to optimise the work and preserve the unique characteristics of the wine. Long maceration and fermentation periods, large Slavonian oak barrels and promotion of the local area are the key words for this historic winery.

People

The business has always been family-run, and today it is managed by Paola and Piera Rinaldi with the help of Francesca, who represents the fifth generation. You can feel the family's great passion, focused on promoting the Barolo region.

Vineyards

The winery owns 11 hectares in the municipalities of Barolo, Castiglione Falletto and La Morra. In the municipality of La Morra, the vineyards managed by the family are Brunate (where the ancient farmhouse “La Brunata” is located), Rocche dell'Annunziata and Fontanassa. These plots have the classic clayey characteristics of the areas dating back to the Tortonian.

Wines

The winery produces the following wines using grapes from the municipality of La Morra: Barolo Brunate D.O.C.G, Barolo Rocche dell’Annunziata D.O.C.G, Barolo Classico D.O.C.G and Barbera d’Alba D.O.C.
