The Cantina Comunale
The Cantina Comunale di La Morra was born in 1973 in the stables of the eighteenth-century Marchesi Falletti’s palace in La Morra. It represents a wide selection of La Morra’s wines, especially of the Barolo.
The Cantina was opened thanks to the idea of the city administration and the “Pro Loco” association. 1987 has been a fundamental year, because La Morra’s winemakers became independent from the municipality, and they set up an association with their own constitution and board.
The Cantina Comunale is a showroom area which aim is to promote and to sell the best wines of La Morra, so it is not possible to have a guided tour since the cantina doesn’t produce wines.
In the Cantina Comunale you have the opportunity to buy a great selection of barolo, Nebbiolo, Barbera, Dolcetto and many other kind of wines from more than 80 wineries of the village.
In La Morra there are more than 558 hecatrs under vines, and almost 1/3 of the total production of Barolo comes from the village.
